Yael Stone, a native of Australia and a resident of New York City in 2013, portrayed Lorna Mello as an inmate In Orange Is the New Black. Yael earned a bachelor's diploma from NIDA. Yael had the privilege at a young stage to be a part of some of Australia's top storytellers and performers and creative directors working in the television, film and theatre industry. Yael is a hugely accomplished career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was thrilled to discover her new residence when Brooklyn Academy of Music, which was the venue where the production premiered to great acclaim, moved to the place she now calls New York City. Yael was co-founder at The Cannery. In a Bushwick Brooklyn studio The Cannery encourages new and creative writings and encourage innovative thinking.
